Surveys on German Forest Products Industries - demand and supply of recovered wood

Within the last few years the structure of the forest product market and the demand for wood raw materials have strongly changed in Germany. For this reason in the section of economics of forest products at the University of Hamburg different studies were carried out for the determination of the sales potentials on a regional level since 1999. The current market development for wood raw material should be in the position to be displayed more transparently in order to determinate the sales and demand potentials of involved important branches. For this the locations of branches of the forest products industry were respectively examined. Demand or surplus of wood raw materials for the identified locations have been determined. By means of the obtained data it is now possible to carry out a balance sheet or a regional analysis for wood raw material assortments or a constant monitoring.
