Beitrag der Landwirtschaft zur Emission klimarelevanter Spurengase : Möglichkeiten zur Reduktion?

Agriculture causes a lot of trace gas emissions affecting climate and the concentration of the troposperic and stratospheric ozone. If biomass burning - due to the burning of tropical rain forest and of savannas for shifting agriculture - is included, agriculture's contribution to the anthropogenic emissions of trace gases amounts for more than 30 %. Large reductions of these emissions would be possible, if such activities could be reduced or stopped entirely. Alternative arable farming could reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide and of gaseous nitrogen compounds; but for compensating the smaller biomass production of this form of agriculture the production has to be extended. Therefore, the emissions will also increase.
