The development of electronic animal identification systems opens up new possibilities for automation in animal husbandry. With the injection of the system into the animal, a "number" is allotted to the animal for its lifespan. The systems' method of operation, which was determined by the individual producers till now, was an obstacle to their broader usage. The standardization described, as well as the technical functioning and the data structure and exchange should remove these hindrances.
