A study has been made of the water balance from laying White Leghorn hens. The amount of water consumed by the hens was approximately 5,9 grams per hour and kg body weight. On the other hand the data for water elemination in the excrements and for the evaporative water loss due to respiration were 2,8 grams and 2,3 grams respectively per hour and kg body weight.
