Impact of insecticides and feeding damages on fly communities (Diptera: Brachycera) in pine forests In the frame of the project, the process of species determination and results of literature study is discussed in terms of investigation purpose. Further information about research design are detailed in the conference proceedings paper of (Kühne & al. 2019). To accomplish species determination, morphological and molecular genetic methods are combined to optimise the identification procedure in relation to lack of time and expertise for morphological determination. The possibility of revealing cryptic species and augmenting Barcode of Life Datasystem with species are further benefits. Within in the scope of a literature study relevant parasitoid flies for biological control of potential insect pests in pine forests were identified. They were classified as relevant, if they are able to weaken pest outbreaks and/or contributing to keep most pine insect pests at once in latency phase. Overall, the most relevant family is the Tachinidae, which comprises almost all relevant species. Nonetheless there a few species of Sarcophagidae and Muscidae which have also a relevance.
