Benutzung und Benutzer der Pflanzenschutzdokumentation
Ein Rückblick auf die Auskunftstätigkeit des Dokumentationsschwerpunktes Pflanzenkrankheiten und Pflanzenschutz der Biologischen Bundesanstalt in Berlin-Dahlem in den ersten fünf Jahren seines Bestehens zeigt, daß die Anzahl der Anfragen an die Dokumentation stark angestiegen ist, seit die Zahl der bei der Dokumentationsstelle erfaßten und gespeicherten Informationen aus mehr als 65 000 Veröffentlichungen die VVahrscheinlichkeit einer befriedigenden Auskunftserteilung stark erhöht hat. Die in Berlin-Dahlem tätigen \IVissenschaftler stellen, obwohl ihnen die von der Dokumentationsstelle verarbeitete Literatur im wesentlichen im Original zur Verfügung steht, den größten Anteil von Anfragen, was auf den Rationalisierungseffekt der Dokumentationsstelle hinweist. Dieser möglicherweise standortlJedingle hohe Anteil der Benutzungen aus Berlin-Dahlem nimmt zugunsten auswärtiger Wissenschaftler stetig ab. Die Pflege eines engen Kontaktes zu allen auf dem Gebiete der Phytomedizin wissenschaftlich Tätigen ist eine der Voraussetzungen, die Leistungen und Dienste der Dokumentationsstelle weiter zu verbessern.
The documentation centre of plant protection and phytopathology of the Biologische Bundesanstalt in Berlin-Dahlem has been existing for five years. A retrospect at the activity of information given by the documentation centre shows that the inquiries directed to the documentation centre have become more and more numerous, since the number of the conceived and accumulated information from more than 65 000 publications has very much increased the possibility of giving satisfying information. Most of the inquiries come from the scientists in Berlin, although they mostly have at their disposal in original the literature used by the documentation centre. This points out to the effect of rationalization by the documenlation centre. This high percentage of use by Berlin scientists, perhaps due to its local position, is continually decreasing in favour of the non-resident scientists. The maintenance of a close contact to all scientists active on the field of phytomedicine is one of the conditions to a further improvement of the efficiency and services of the documentation centre.
