Nectria ipomoeae Halst., Anamorph: Fusarium striatum Sherb. an Passiflora edulis SimsNectria ipomoeae Halst., anamorph: Fusarium striatum Sherb. on Passiflora edulis Sims
A fungus isolated from Passiflora edulis Sims was identified as Nectria ipomeae Halst. with its anamorph Fusarium striatum Sherb. This was done on the bases of its morphology, its fertility, its pathogenicity towards the just mentioned plant, Solanum tuberosum L., and S. melongena L. as well as its apathogenicity towards Cucurbita ficifolia Bouche. The pathogen is identical with Nectria haematococca Berk. & Br. which is cited in literature as the causal agent of a will and collar rot of passion fruit. Pathogenicity, morphology, and nomenclature of this fungus is treated extensively.
