Gospodarjenje in upravljanje kmetijskih sistemovza zagotavljanje vode dobre kakovosti za oskrbo s pitno vodo (FAIRWAY)

Razprseno onesnazevanje z dusikom (N) in sredstvi za varstvo rastlin (SVR) v kmetijstvu je glavna ovira za dobro kakovost virov pitne vode. Glavna cilja projekta FAIRWAY (2017 - 2021) sta (a) pregledati metode zascite virov pitne vode pred onesnazenjem s SVR in N ter (b) identificirati in razviti inovativne ukrepe in nacine upravljanja za bolj ucinkovito varovanje virov pitne vode. Ta clanek prispeva pregled do zdaj opravljenega dela na projektu. Tako predstavi (i) identificirane kazalnike kakovosti pitne vode in tehnike IT/senzorjev na ravni kmetije, obmocja raziskovanja in vira pitne vode; (ii) pregled ukrepov za zmanjsanje onesnazevanja virov pitne vode z nitrati in pesticidi; (iii) pregled obstojecih orodij za podporo odlocanju ter oceno stroskov in koristi z uporabo orodij za podporo odlocanju; (iv) skladnost prava in politike EU s ciljem varstva virov pitne vode; (v) ovire, tezave in resitve zagotavljanja celostne znanstvene podpore za politiko EU.

Diffuse pollution with nitrogen (N) and plant protection products (PPP) from agriculture is a major barrier to reach good quality of drinking water sources. The main objectives of the FAIRWAY project ( 2017 - 2021) are (a) to review methods of protecting drinking water sources from PPP and N pollution and (b) to identify and develop innovative meaures and management methods for more effective protection of drinking water sources. This article provides an overview of the work done so far. It shall present (i) the identified drinking water quality indicators and IT/sensor technology, at farm level, research area and drinking water sources; (ii) a review of measures to reduce pollution of drinking water sources by nitrates and pesticides, (iii) review of existing decision support tools and assessment of the costs and benefits of using decision support tools; (iv) the coherence of EU law and policy with the aim of protecting drinking water resources; (v) barriers, problems and solutions in providing integrated scientific support for EU policy.
