Der Verlauf der klassischen Schweinepest: Ein Infektionsversuch mit dem aktuellen Schweinepest-Virusisolat aus Nordrhein-Westfalen (Kreis Borken)

An animal experiment has been conducted with a recent swine fever (CSF) virus isolate from Germany. The aim was to generate data regarding the clinical course of the disease and the virulence of the isolate. Four piglets, four weaners and four sows were inoculated oronasally. From the results obtained it could be concluded that the virulence of the recent isolate is similar to virus strains which were previously isolated in Germany. All known clinical forms of postnatal clinical infection were seen (acute-lethal, acute-transient, chronic). The recent isolate can be regarded as moderately virulent
