Zur Schätzung der Wettbewerbskraft ausgewählter Produktionszweige in der ungarischen Landwirtschaft

If average unit costs of products are compared to unit costs and unit revenues in EU-member countries, Hungarian farm enterprises are clearly competitive, even though yield levels are lower. However, the question arises, wheather this advantage can be retained until the time of joining the EU. It has to be considered that input prices get adjusted to EU-levels even before accession. One can hardly expect that in spite of a rapid increase of productivity, the production could be managed profitably at support prices as indicated by the commission in its Agenda 2000 proposals.
