Silage aus verschiedenen Wickenarten als proteinreiches Raufutter in der Schweinemast
In a previous trial, it was found that vetch whole-plant silage was readily taken up by fattening pigs. The question arose if this protein-rich legume roughage had positive effects on fattening performance compared to straw and if there were differences between vetch species. In a trial with 160 animals, the effect of using vetch silage compared to clover grass silage and straw on daily body mass gain and concentrate consumption were tested. The body mass gains in the groups fed vetch silage were higher with a lower concentrate feed consumption. Thus, protein-rich roughage has the potential to save concentrate and vetch silage can be used as roughage.
