Feed intake of cockerels from dual purpose breeds might differ depending on range area. The composition of GIT contents offers an estimate of the feed intake from pasture. We use a modified version of a previously described method to analyze the contents of crops and gizzards of cockerels at the age of 12, 15 and 18 weeks. Cockerels are reared in three different systems with either access to pasture, shrubs or a short rotation coppice.
