Inklusive Bodengovernance-Modelle für Ökolandbau: Motive zur Teilnahme und Effekte der Teilhabe
Diverse innovative land governance models securing agricultural land for organic farming have developed in Germany in recent years. They have been formed by inclusive social enterprises demonstrating a dynamic bottom-up development in organic farming. Inclusive land ownership organizations not only provide micro-solutions to land access for organic farmers in need of land (often start-ups), but also bring together producers and consumers with stronger sustainability values. The high inclusivity of the organizations and their model of equity participation (with waiver or reduction of profit) enables relatively timely response (compared to non-profit supporting organizations) to farmers in need of assistance (e.g., financial, with resource security or knowledge). In addition, participation in the organizations promotes the spread of sustainability values and triggers moral obligation and more sustainable behavior. Because of their relatively small size and numbers to date, these initiatives cannot be considered panacea for agri-food sector transformation, but they show potential to make a meaningful contribution.
