This file contains processed foliar nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) concentrations data from selected ICP Forests Level II sites. The raw data can be requested from http://icp-forests.net/page/data-requests. Overall, this file includes 4149 site-years of foliar N and P observations across 410 sites. The file includes six columns following the coding of ICP Forests (http://www.icp-forests.org/pdf/manual/2016/ICP_Manual_2017_02_part04.pdf). The columns provide information on the country of origin, the plot, the authors of the data set, the year of evaluation, the tree species, latitude and longitude of the plot rounded to the nearest minute, mean annual precipitation (MAP) in mm, mean annual temperature (MAT) in °C, the thermal amplitude, foliar N, P, K, Ca, and Mg concentrations. This data is used to analyse the temporal trends of foliar N and P across continental Europe.
