Inheritance of aroma compounds
The segregating population of a cross between the breeding strains Gf.Ga-47- 42 (flavoured) and Villard blanc (neutral) was developed for the analysis of their aroma profiles. Terpene compounds were analysed in the offspring during the years 1998-2000. According to the present results, differences in inheritance can be expected. Based on a preliminary genetic linkage map, QTLs for the three compounds Hotrienol, Trans-p-Linalooloxide and Terpendiol II were identified. The approach is aimed at developing molecu1ar markers in order to establish a marker assisted selection procedure for wine quality parameter.
