Maize rough dwarf virus – in Deutschland erstmals nachgewiesen
In 2006 leaf enation symptoms were found on maize plants in Black Forest area in Southern Germany. Electron microscopic examination verified Maize rough dwarf virus in symptomatic plants. This is the first report of this virus in Germany. The virus was found in four fields with almost 50 % of maize plants infected. This provides an indication for an increasing agronomical significance of this virus in Germany.
