On-farm Untersuchungen zum Nanovirus PNYDV (Pea necrotic yellow dwarf virus) an Ackerbohne (Vicia faba)
Pea necrotic yellow dwarf virus (PNYDV) is a new Nanovirus in Central Europe affecting various legumes and is persistently vectored by aphids. In this on-farm survey, we investigated six faba bean fields with PNYDV-symptomatic foci by multispectral drone images correlated with ground truth plant growth parameters. Symptomatic plants showed a significant decrease in yield and dry matter of N-fixating root nodules. Compared to healthy plants, symptomatic plants were lacking rose and red coloured inner nodule contents and had higher fractions of decaying and inactive nodules. Several indices of multispectral images showed obvious disparities in spectral information of symptomatic foci vs. adjacent references.
