Report from the 34th Mycotoxin-Workshop, 2012 (Braunschweig, Germany)

The 34th annual Mycotoxin-Workshop was held this year on the 14th–16th May 2012 at the City Hall of Braunschweig, Germany. More than 200 registered participants from all over the world came to attend this years’ conference. The 34th Workshop was co-organised by the team of Prof. Dr. Sven Dänicke, Dr. Susanne Kersten (née Döll), Dr. Hana Valenta and Sigrid Herweg from the Institute of Animal Nutrition, Friedrich Löffler Institute (German Federal Institute of Animal Health), and by Dr. Elisabeth Oldenburg from the Institute for Plant Protection in Field Crops and Grasslands, Julius Kühn Institute (German Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants), in cooperation with the Society for Mycotoxin Research. Many people from these institutes were highly enthusiastic with their various duties before and during the workshop, and we like to say, “Thank you!” to all of them. Like every volunteer-driven conference of such a size, one or two core persons have to take over the workshop manager duties. Therefore our special thanks go to Dr. Susanne Kersten, who succeeded in keeping everything running fine and creating a perfect workshop atmosphere.
