Gerhard Flachowsky serves on the EFSA GMO safety panel and is a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Animal Nutrition at the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institute in Braunschweig, Germany. His field of interest include: Nutritional physiology incl. fundamentals of human nutrition, Ruminant nutrition, Feed sciences (incl. nutritional and safety assessment of feed from GM-plants), Animal nutrition and quality of food of animal origin, Animal nutrition and environmental aspects (incl. Carbon footprints and climate change), Nutrient economy, resource efficiency and global food security.
