One of the tasks of the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut is to watch the global animal disease situation and identify possible dangers at an early stage. The Swiss Radar Bulletin … Similarly to the FLI, the Swiss Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (BLV) watches the international animal disease situation and has been publishing the results in a so-called „Radar Bulletin“ since 2013. The bulletin briefly and concisely describes the current global situation with regard to the most important animal diseases and assesses the resulting dangers for animal holdings in Switzerland using a traffic light system (danger levels green, yellow and red). Persuaded by the convincing concept of this Radar Bulletin, the FLI has been cooperating with the BLV since February 2016 in compiling the bulletin; a cooperation agreement was signed in October. … will now be published in a German version From November on, a „Radar Bulletin Germany“ will be published in addition to the Swiss edition, which will assess the global animal disease situation from the German point of view. It will be published online monthly in two versions: the version for the veterinary agencies will contain additional data from the European Animal Disease System (ADNS) and will be available for download via the Animal Disease Reporting System (TSN) of the FLI. From November 2016 on, an additional public version of the Radar Bulletin will be available on the FLI website. Until the end of 2016, the bulletin will be published in the middle of the month, from January 2017 on, it will be available at the beginning of the month.
