Prof. Dr. Franz J. Conraths appointed as Vice-President of the FLI

German Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture Christian Schmidt has appointed Prof. Dr. Franz J. Conraths, Head of the Institute of Epidemiology of the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut (FLI), as Vice-President of the FLI. Therefore, in absence of the President, Prof. Dr. Dr. Thomas C. Mettenleiter, he assumes his powers and authority according to the legal statutes of the FLI. He has already served as presidential proxy since 1998.
