In spite of harmfull effects of pesticides on environment and its inhabitants, pesticides should be used. To minimize the negative effects of the pesticides, the spraying should be done not only on the right time and with enough amount of right pesticide, but also with the appropriate equipment. In Aegean Region (Turkey), there are about 500,000 ha vineyards. Vineyard farmers generally apply pesticides in high application rate with high frequency (sometimes 20-25 times a year). But there are no drift preventing systems on the generally air-assisted sprayers which are used there. The constructive enhancement on the currently used machines will be expensive and time consuming. But it is known that the cheapest and easiest thing that can be applied on the machine to reduce spray drift is to choose a suitable nozzle..In this study, trials were made in the wind tunnel located in the Institute for Application Techniques in Crop Protection, Julius Kühn Institute (Formerly BBA) Braunschweig, Germany. In the trials Teejet Air Induction (AI), Air Induction XR (AIXR), Extended Range Flat Fan (XR) and domestic manufactured Hollow Cone Nozzles were used. And for reference nozzle, Lurmark conventional 110o flat fan nozzle was used. This study is made for determining the nozzle which will cause the least spray drift under controlled conditions
